Aceon is an ACE inhibitor prescribed to treat high blood pressure. It works by relaxing blood vessels and reducing fluid retention, improving blood flow and lowering blood pressure.
Dosage Instructions:
- Take with or without food.
- Use at the same time daily for best results.
- Continue taking even if feeling well.
- If a dose is missed, take it as soon as remembered. Skip if close to the next dose—never double dose.
Storage:
- Keep at room temperature (20-25°C / 68-77°F).
- Protect from heat, light, and moisture.
- Keep away from children and pets.
Contraindications:
- Allergy to perindopril or other ACE inhibitors.
- Pregnancy (especially 2nd/3rd trimester).
- History of angioedema (severe swelling).
- Recent use of dextran sulfate.
Precautions:
- Inform your doctor if you have:
- Kidney or liver disease.
- Heart conditions, lupus, or immune disorders.
- High potassium or low sodium levels.
- History of stroke or dehydration.
- Avoid NSAIDs (ibuprofen, aspirin) as they may reduce effectiveness.
- Use caution with potassium supplements or diuretics (risk of high potassium).
Safety Notes:
- May cause dizziness—avoid driving or operating machinery until effects are known.
- Rise slowly to prevent lightheadedness.
- Stay hydrated; dehydration can worsen side effects.
- Report persistent dry cough, swelling, or signs of infection.
- Black patients may have a higher risk of certain side effects.
- Regular blood tests may be needed to monitor kidney/liver function.
Side Effects:
Common:
- Dizziness, headache, cough.
- Fatigue, nausea, mild rash.
Serious (seek immediate help):
- Swelling (face, throat), difficulty breathing.
- Chest pain, irregular heartbeat.
- Dark urine, yellowing skin (jaundice).
- Severe stomach pain or muscle weakness.
Pregnancy/Breastfeeding:
- Harmful to fetuses—avoid during pregnancy.
- Breastfeeding not recommended.
Elderly/Children:
- Older adults may be more sensitive to dizziness.
- Safety in children not established.
