Description
Alkacel 2mg contains melphalan, an alkylating agent used to treat certain cancers, including multiple myeloma, advanced breast and ovarian cancer, and polycythemia vera. It works by damaging cancer cell DNA, slowing or stopping their growth.
Contraindications
Do not use Alkacel if:
- You are allergic to melphalan or any tablet ingredients.
- You are pregnant or planning pregnancy.
- You have recently undergone radiotherapy or chemotherapy.
- You have severe kidney problems.
Inform your doctor if you have had recent vaccinations or plan to get vaccinated. Seek immediate medical help if you experience rash, swelling, wheezing, or chest tightness after taking the medicine.

Mechanism of Action
