Allegra is an antihistamine that blocks the effects of histamine, reducing allergy symptoms such as sneezing, itching, watery eyes, and runny nose. It is used to treat:
- Seasonal allergies (hay fever) in adults and children.
- Skin itching and hives from chronic idiopathic urticaria.
Important Warnings
- Consult a doctor before use if you have kidney disease or drug allergies.
- Avoid taking with fruit juices (apple, orange, grapefruit), as they reduce absorption.
- Seek emergency help for allergic reactions (hives, swelling, breathing difficulties).

Before Taking Allegra

- Pediatric use:

How to Take

- Liquid Suspension: Shake well; use a measuring spoon/cup.
- Orally Disintegrating Tablets (ODT):

- Place on tongue to dissolve; do not chew or swallow whole.
- Take on an empty stomach (1 hour before or 2 hours after meals).
Missed Dose
- If used as needed, skip missed doses.
- Do not double dose.
Overdose Symptoms
- Dry mouth, dizziness, drowsiness.
- Seek emergency help if suspected.
What to Avoid
- Fruit juices (interfere with absorption).
- Antacids with magnesium/aluminum (take 2 hours apart).
- Other sedating medications (may increase drowsiness).
Possible Side Effects
